ABRS Socialworks is a member of the Recruitment Consutling Services Association
ABRS socialworks is committed to protecting your privacy and we comply with the national privacy principles under the Australian Privacy Act as applicable to recruitment companies. We will only collect information relevant to our purposes. We do not trade, rent or sell your information to other parties.
Collection of information
Employer's information supplied electronically or by any other means will be treated confidentially by ABRS.
Applicants may supply information via our website, via email inquiry@socialworks.org.au, in writing, by applying for a position or sending your CV. We may collect information from candidates referees, police or other official sources of probity checking. Information may include tax, immigration and personal details, including age where it is relevant to visa status.
Applicants may choose not to give us sensitive information but this may restrict our ability to place. However full disclosure is required of any matters relating to accusations or convictions in the area of child abuse.
We will keep records of client and applicant satisfaction with placement.
Use of information
Information will be used for the sole purpose of recruiting and placing staff. We will use information to assess job needs, eligibility to apply for a visa, applicant's skills and experience. Non identifying information may be used for research or analysis purposes.
Storage of information
Information will be held in a secure database, which is available to ABRS staff only. Where computer assistance has been sought subcontractors will be required to agree to privacy conditions. Some paper records will also be kept. All information is securely stored.
Disclosure
All information sent to ABRS socialworks by candidates and client organisations will be treated as confidential with access on a need to know basis by ABRS staff only.
Non-identifying information will be shared with consent with relevant client organisations and applicants, until such time as a placement is being finalised.
If you indicate that you wish to be considered generally for available positions or in the case of a client organisation, a job offer made, your consent will be taken as given. Your information may also be disclosed to referees. We may disclose your information without your consent where:
- it is for a reasonably expected purpose related to the purposes for collecting the information in accord with this Privacy Policy.
- we reasonably believe it is necessary to assist an enforcement body to perform its functions.
- we suspect that an unlawful activity has been, is being or may be engaged in and the personal information is a necessary part of our investigation or reporting of the matter.
- we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent a threat to life, health or safety.
- we are authorised or required by law to do so.
Information on placed applicants and the relevant client organisation will be kept permanently to fulfil our obligations to protect clients and particularly children and young people. Information will not be released unless we are legally obliged to do so.
Access to your information and ability to correct data
If you have applied online you may access and update your registration data at any time. Access to other material should be through the Privacy Officer (see contact details below). Reports by client organisations and any issues related to matters governed by laws relating to clients are not available to applicants.
You may request to have your details removed from our data and this will be considered except where there is any possibility of legal action.
Security of site
When you register with us you will be supplied with a password. Security of this password is your responsibility, and we advise you not to disclose it to anyone. You must notify us immediately if you believe that someone else knows your password or if it may be used in an unauthorised way.
The ABRS Socialworks database is maintained by Recruitlive and contractual obligations have been entered into to ensure your privacy consistent with Australian Privacy laws.
